Island Nation I · The Shrunken Seas

Port Morrow

A sprawling lawless trading hub built directly out of the rusted skeletal frame of a pre-shift cruise liner fused with massive wooden sea-docks.

History & Origins

When the 2061 Perihelion Shift fractured high-tech civilization, the massive luxury cruise vessel *RMS Meridian* was caught dead in the water as its satellite navigation arrays overloaded. Driven ashore by towering rogue waves, its immense steel hull wedged firmly into a shallow coral shelf. Over the decades, survivors, smugglers, and awakened marine fauna colonized the wreck, welding timber shanties, rope bridges, and crane-lift platforms directly onto its rusted skeleton.

Today, Port Morrow stands as the beating economic heart of the Shrunken Seas—a chaotic sanctuary where black-market merchants, independent captains, and scuttled scholars trade salvaged copper, canned rations, and filtered water under the watchful glare of rusted deck-cranes.

Key Locations & Notable Landmarks

The Squeaking Anchor Tavern

The social nucleus of Port Morrow, built inside the ship's former grand dining lounge. Run by weary locals where bipedal animals and human sailors share stale grog and whispered rumors.

Pier 4 Ledger House

Thaddius J. Mouse's cluttered corner office and archive hub. Stuffed with ink-stained ledgers, pre-shift almanacs, and humming magnetic wire coils.

Local Businesses & Economy

Commerce in Port Morrow is driven by salvage rights, scrap metal recycling, and the import of thermal minerals from Cinder-Reach. Notable establishments include Vane's Rigging & Cordage (specializing in reinforced canvas) and The Brass Compass, a pawn shop run by an exceptionally cynical badger.
